When do we do it?
Traditionally,
rapper is a winter-evening activity. Bristol Rapper
functions mainly in the winter season - starting in October,
and finishing in early April of the
following year. Practices are always held on Sunday evenings; starting at 8.00 p.m, and finishing around 10.00 p.m. We normally a short break at around 9.00 p.m. to have a beer and to discuss any business. Pub Tours are always run on Friday evenings; starting at around 8.00 p.m. and finishing at the last pub somewhere near closing time. The tours don't start immediately, as it takes a practice or two just to get back to the previous end-of-season standard following the summer break. From January onwards we have practices and tours; during these later practices we sometimes bring in some new figures, or perhaps start work on learning a new tradition. We also perform by arrangement for special events; usually in the winter, but occasionally out of season. |
